Buying a boat in Mallorca with Sea Moments

We are a Mallorca marine company specialising in the sale of new and pre-owned boats, boat rental and boat management. Our office is at the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, in Can Pastilla. We show you each boat at its port, ask the seller for the maintenance history and support you through the negotiation, the checks and the transfer.

For pre-owned boats in Palma and for those in other ports on the island, we arrange the viewing on a day that suits you.

RIBs, sailing boats and small boats in Mallorca

Used RIBs in Mallorca and zodiac-style inflatables sell quickly in spring: if one interests you, ask early. We also have used sailing boats in Mallorca and 5 to 7-metre boats for the titulín (Spain’s basic Licencia de Navegación), ideal for coves and as a first boat. See our used RIBs, used sailing boats and 6-metre boats.

Pre-owned boats in the Balearic Islands and Ibiza

As well as in Mallorca, we sell pre-owned boats in Menorca and Ibiza when the owner entrusts us with the sale. If you are looking for a boat in the Balearic Islands and do not see it in this list, get in touch and we will let you know when a suitable one comes in.

Can I see the boat in Mallorca before buying it?

Where is your office?

At the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, in Can Pastilla (Palma).

Do you offer a mooring when I buy?

If you place the boat under charter management with us, we offer you a mooring in Alcúdia or in Palma.

Buying a pre-owned boat in Mallorca

Buying on the island where you will sail saves transport and lets you see the boat afloat at its real berth. We coordinate the viewing wherever each boat is and give you what really matters: engine hours, maintenance, refits, inventory and whether the price includes VAT.

Marinas we work with

In Mallorca we work with Naviera Balear (Palma), Port del Molinar, Club Náutico San Antonio de la Playa, Club de Mar and Puerto Portals. Our office is at Club Náutico San Antonio de la Playa in Can Pastilla.

Frequently asked questions

Which taxes apply to buying a pre-owned boat in Spain?

A sale between private individuals is normally subject to the regional transfer tax (ITP). If a company sells, the price usually carries VAT. Each listing states the VAT treatment and we confirm it before any offer.

Which licence do I need?

It depends on length and use. As a guide: Licencia de Navegación up to 6 m, PNB up to 8 m and PER up to 15 m. Each listing shows the length and we tell you which licence applies.

Can I view and test the boat before buying?

Yes. We arrange the viewing at the boat’s marina and, before closing, you can request a sea trial and an independent survey.

Can I buy a boat with a berth?

If the boat goes into charter management with us, we offer a berth in Alcúdia or Palma. For private use only, we help you find a berth or dry storage for its length.

Can the boat earn income through charter?

Yes, if the boat suits our fleet. We handle marketing, guests and day-to-day operations during the season. Before you buy, we tell you whether the model is suitable for charter and what it requires.

Who checks the boat’s condition?

We recommend an independent surveyor to check hull, engines and equipment before closing, and help you arrange it. If the boat has maintenance invoices, we request them from the seller.

How is the change of ownership done?

With the signed purchase agreement and the tax paid, the change is registered with the Harbour Master’s office (Capitanía Marítima). We help you with the paperwork so the boat is put in your name.

What if I like a boat on the mainland?

We help with that too. We arrange the viewing at its marina and, if you then want it in Mallorca, we help with transport by sea or road and with a berth.
