Which boats can you skipper with the titulín?

With the titulín, the Licencia de Navegación (Spain’s entry-level boating licence), you can skipper leisure boats up to 6 metres in length with engine power suitable for the boat, sailing by day and no more than 2 nautical miles from a port, marina or sheltered spot. That is enough for many 6-metre boats, RIBs and open boats for trips to coves.

Without a licence (licence-free boats) you can only skipper boats up to 5 metres and 15 kW, about 20 hp. If you want a bigger boat, the PNB (Patrón de Navegación Básica) allows boats up to 8 metres and 5 nautical miles, and the PER (Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo) boats up to 15 metres. See our 5-metre boats, 6-metre boats and boats for the PNB.

Frequently asked questions

How many metres can I skipper with the titulín?

Up to 6 metres in length, with power suitable for the boat.

How far can I go with the titulín?

By day and no more than 2 nautical miles from a port, marina or sheltered spot.

Which boats can be skippered without a licence?

Boats up to 5 metres in length and 15 kW (about 20 hp) of power, by day and close to the coast.

The Spanish licence and the boat’s capacity are separate checks. Holding the navigation licence does not change the authorised passenger limit or the equipment required for the navigation area. For a foreign-issued certificate, check recognition for the intended flag and use before purchase. Compare size and cabin layout while keeping documentary verification as its own step. A daylight navigation restriction should also be distinguished from sleeping aboard a properly moored boat.

Titulín is the common name for Spain’s Licencia de Navegación. It covers boats up to 6 m in length, with engine power suitable under the manufacturer’s specifications, for daylight navigation within 2 nautical miles of a port, marina or shelter. The legal reference is Royal Decree 875/2014. Check the boat’s documented length and your personal entitlement before navigating; a commercial length or photograph cannot replace that check.

Compare specific information

This selection includes only confirmed compatible models: As Marine 20 GL Open, 22 GLC and 23 GL. All three have 5.99 m registered hulls, although their overall lengths are 6, 6.80 and 6.99 m respectively. The 20 prioritises an open deck; the other two have cabins. A pre-owned boat is not automatically included just because its listing says six metres: the relevant measurement must be documented first.

Prices in this selection

New models in this selection start at 21,550 € without engine, plus VAT. The table separately identifies offers with an engine and shows overall and registered hull lengths. A base price starts a configuration; the final quotation should include every component you will use. Changing engine power or extras in the configurator does not automatically retain a package offer price.

This selection includes 8 units from the pre-owned catalogue. Advertised prices range from 3,900 € to 59,000 €; check each listing for VAT treatment, included engines and condition. These are different listings, not boats with identical year, equipment or tax status.

Prepare your onboard comparison

Before viewing, choose two or three listings and note what you want to compare: usable seating, water access, shade, storage, handling and included accessories. Request the exact configuration in writing and distinguish unit photos from model illustrations. Viewings are arranged at the boat’s marina. If replacing your present boat, you can also start a valuation through our selling page.
